Frozen and fresh
In the last few decades in the Republic of Croatia, a whole series of new modern production facilities were designed to receive fresh fish, anchovies and sardines from fishing boats. These are then either processed or immediately exported fresh while maintaining an uninterrupted cold chain.
Small pelagic fish in the Republic of Croatia is frozen either in blocks or by IQF. The most common, individual quick freezing (IQF) takes place on modern high capacity IQF machines, which ensures that the temperature is lowered sharply in a very short time. Unlike conventional tunnels, this freezing system does not dry out the fish by using a stream of cold air. On the contrary, it retains all its natural properties. This ensures the high quality of the resulting frozen sardine and anchovy product. Thanks to this state-of-the-art technology, after defrosting, the fish retains all the characteristics of freshly caught fish.

Frozen products are packaged in packages of various weights according to customer requests, either as larger packages or as retail packages that allow a tasty and healthy meal to be prepared without great effort.
